About Brooke May
M.S. in Education

Brooke May started School Beans with a simple idea: Create a place for children to come together from anywhere to make new friends, spark creativity, and to build their passions.  School Beans after school classes are designed with the end in mind. Classes are built to work towards cumulative project experiences so children can make connections in their learning and have a final product they can feel proud of!

Brooke holds a Masters Degree in Dual Language Early Childhood Education from Bank Street College of Education and teaches at a top dual language school in Manhattan. In addition to her 8 years of experience teaching in the classroom, she also develops a range of enrichment courses centered around the arts and their ability to help children express themselves and demonstrate their passions. Over the last ten years, she has taught enrichment art, Spanish, and social-emotional learning courses in a variety of environments in New York City, Hawaii, and online.

Brooke stands by the philosophy that children learn best by doing. Her classes are designed to be interactive and thoughtful, inspiring children to work on projects at their own pace while giving them the space to share and feel proud of their creations and newly acquired skills.

Born and raised in Washington State, Brooke is a Pacific Northwest girl at heart. She loves hiking, biking, yoga, snorkeling, and traveling the world any chance she gets.
